Why aerial?

Detachable gondola systems carry passengers continuously rather than on a timetable. There is no schedule to memorize and no platform wait beyond the interval between cabins, which at design capacity is under thirty seconds.

The mode is well established in daily commuter service. Medellín has operated the Metrocable as part of its integrated transit network since 2004; La Paz operates Mi Teleférico, the largest urban cable network in the world; Mexico City opened the first Cablebús line in 2021. Portland’s aerial tram has connected the South Waterfront to Marquam Hill since 2006.

Construction is staged tower by tower and does not require sustained closure of the Beltline beneath.
