Why does Atlanta need this?

The Beltline already ties together forty-five neighborhoods, twelve hundred acres of parkland, and a good share of the places people in this city actually go: to work, to school, to the doctor, to see their mother on a Sunday.

Right now, getting from one end of it to the other means driving. If you don’t drive, or can’t, or would rather not, the Beltline is a beautiful place to walk that mostly doesn’t take you anywhere.

That is a solvable problem. Atlanta voted to pay for the solution ten years ago, and the tax is still being collected.
